POPULOUS commissioned me to shoot their latest involvement in the extension of the Geelong Cats Football Club stadium expansion. The  GMHBA Stadium carries on westward from the adjacent Players Stand in what will eventually be a complete realisation of the grounds stadium potential. The new facility houses an elite training facility for the players as well as the Geelong Cats new administration areas. It also has improved social areas including large corporate areas, retail areas with player interaction on game day and world class media services.

The main stand forecourt is robust enough to house large crowds and pedestrian movement during event periods. The prominent roof line is one of the stands most dominant architectural elements.

The forecourt during game time caters for both a range of corporate activities and fan interaction.

The main GMHBA stand ( foreground ) is an extension of the Players Stand ( background ).

POPULOUS are all about people. GFC fans waiting patiently for another goal to be scored. The new stand has a seating capacity of 5000 people.

A world first. This exclusive room accessed by selected members are able to stand on a glass floor above the Geelong Cats warm up room and enjoy what goes on behind the scenes before they run out onto the field.

The players warm up area with glass roof and direct visual links to the main cafe space.

From inside the cafe patrons are able to sip their lattes whilst enjoying seeing their favourite players warm up prior to a game. Its all about maximum fan / player involvement without being too intrusive to game preparations.

Main lobby entry with cafe and retail at ground entry level. Secured access via escalators direct patrons upstairs to various entertainment and social outlets as well as allocated stand areas.

The main corporate event area overlooks the field.

The Geelong Cats new administration offices sit under the new stand. Glass roof panels allow fans from above to visually access the inner working of the club.

Additional areas to the administration level of the club.

Multi purpose rooms for either educational training or media activities during game day.
